With its roots based on graphic design, video editing and motion graphics;
and extremely influenced by the underground digital arts movement known as
the "demoscene", the members of kiken.corporation are involved in the
argentinian audiovisual scene since their teenage days, though formed as
a group only in the year 2001 when Akira, CEO and founder of the project, created the studio.
That year they started their interest on live visuals. This spawned their
"VJ systems" set, with which, since then, they have seen themselves involved
in the biggest electronic music events of South America, including Creamfields
(Argentina and Chile), TIM Festival and Skol Beats(Brasil), SUN Tour (Chile),
Onedotzero, Sonar Sound (Argentina), MUTEK_BA, Southfest, Moonpark, 1Live and
the Camel Genuine Sound parties, letting them perform alongside almost all of
the most reknowned local and international artists of the electronic music world.
kiken.corporation's set is distinguished by its "newschool" style.
Motion graphics with a denoted "pixel" style, "2.5D", a step between
the plane aspect of bidimensionality and the volume of 3D, and the "k.pixel-tags",
a different approach to the urban culture of tagging, are some of the stylings
created by the Corporation which conform their VJ sets.
They are also actively involved in the organization of a LatinAmerican "wing"
of the AVIT movement, in the artistic production and direction of visuals in
high profile events, and have been, since 2004, sponsored by modul8 as VJs,
and officialy representing garageCube, the makers of the software, in Latin America.
